Happy Birthday Buddha Rider
I wanted to take a few minutes today to sit down and soak it all in. It’s often hard for me to be in the moments that make my heart full. I find it uncomfortable to hear the praise from people and it overwhelms to to take credit for anything that has transpired at Buddha Rider. Truth be told… I don’t give myself enough credit. It’s so much easier to give it than receive it. So today, I stop, pause and recognize that I am part of the Buddha Rider culture. That after 11 years we are still creating, building and supporting a community. I thank each and everyone one of you. The teachers who show up everyday sharing their gifts, Kim who takes care of the back end of the business, the karma exchange volunteers who spare their time and YOU, the clients who show up day after day. It reminds me that no matter what we are all in this together.
So thank you, thank you, thank you.

Somatics (in the Thomas Hanna tradition) means sensing the body from the inside out. You will find this class to be very relaxing and enjoyable. You will learn slow, gentle, relaxing self-care movements that are suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Movements are designed to relieve pain and tension, improve posture, reduce stress, increase range of motion, prevent injuries, and warm up and cool down from workouts.
You’ll lie on the floor on a mat, alternating between lying on your back, side, and stomach. The educator leading the class will verbally teach you the movements rather than demonstrate. By not demonstrating the movements it encourages an internal learning process. You can make changes in your nervous system more effectively and efficiently when you focus completely on your internal sensations.

Join Shirlee for a 3 hour workshop on exploring the fundamentals of the chakras. Discover which Chakras are over and under active. Discover which poses to work with to unblock chakras for better health.

This 4 week experiential workshop series will include theory and practice for you to become familiar with a moving technique called Somatics as a way of taking control of your own health and wellbeing.
Learn how to regain control of your body with simple, gentle movements to release persistent muscle tension. The result is a pain-free body that moves well and ages gracefully.
Somatic movement can reduce or eliminate chronic pain, increase flexibility and range of motion, improve alignment/posture and restore vitality.
Open to all body types and abilities Somatics is complementary to most other forms of exercise and yoga.
No experience necessary. Must be able to get up and down from the floor. Maximum 10 Participants.
